LAS VEGAS, NV (November, 2011) – Pink Jeep Tours – Las Vegas, Inc., launched its operation in 2001 to rave reviews and now, 10 years later, is celebrating a great ride. The up-start tour company took a big risk a decade ago when it defined its market tailored to the “small group experience,” bucking the trend for large buses and touring vans. The Las Vegas operation expanded the already successful and nationally known Pink Jeep Tours in Sedona, Arizona that had been operating for 40 years.

Success in the Las Vegas market was far from certain, however. General manager Alix Reed recalls, “We had humble beginnings, starting with a couple of stretch Jeeps, four Suburbans, 8 employees, and we booked tours from a hair salon appointment book! After a lot of experimenting, always trying to improve our customer experience, we spent four years developing the custom Tour Trekker, for the optimum sightseeing experience. This amazing vehicle is perfectly suited for that small group tour, with seating for up to ten in total comfort. It also allows us to go to remote locations that conventional tour companies are unable to go.”

Today Pink Jeep Tours – Las Vegas operates 10 adventure tours to spectacular destinations like the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, nearby National Parks, and the Las Vegas Strip. There are 64 employees and 25 custom Tour Trekkers. Overall, they have the largest fleet of luxury off-road vehicles in Las Vegas.

What also sets Pink Jeep Tours apart is the dedication to the continuing education of the guides. This became a key company ethic when CEO and owner Shawn Wendell took the company over in the 1980s. “Shawn is a visionary, innovator and entrepreneur who understands what excites people on a tour. He knew that fun, highly-informed guides make the trip. So he invested in topnotch education for them. As a result, most of the Pink Jeep Tour guides are Certified Interpretive Guides (CIG) through the National Association for Interpretation (NAI),” says Reed.

What do the next ten years look like for Pink Jeep? “Stay tuned,” says Reed. “We will continue to innovate, take people to new places, and keep all our tours exciting and educational. We are dedicated to getting people out into raw nature, and if we take their breath away in the process, all the better.”
